Breaffy NS had wonderful success at the regional final of the VEX IQ Robotics competition in ATU Sligo recently. Our school has advanced its coding , design and robotics endeavours in recent years lead by Kevin Duggan. David Mulligan , a parent in our school lectures in technology in ATU Sligo , suggested the competition to Mr Duggan last year recognising the potential within our school community in the senior classes. This has progressed this year with the purchase of extra robotics equipment for the other 6th Class leas by Ciarán Hennelly. The pupils have worked extremely hard this year again in preparation for the Vex IQ Robotics Competition leading to more success.
The 6th class team won the robot skills challenge and the overall team prize and will be heading off to Cork in February for the national finals. The team were accompanied by Ms Tuohy, Mr Hennelly and Mr Duggan on the day.all of whom gave time to and Our pupils has to design , program , build and measure the success of their robot in meeting the prescribed challenge in the competition. Teamwork and collaboration feature strongly for the project to succeed.
Our pupils returned home to school last Friday to a great welcome looking forward to the All Ireland Final in Cork .
