Faye Lavin Cup

We had a great day last Tuesday to commemorate the memory of our special past pupil Faye Lavin who passed away unexpectedly 5 years ago in her last few weeks in Breaffy NS .

Faye’s family Petrina Tom Luke & Jude were there to mark the occasion.

Our Principal , Seoirse O Móráin welcomed all on this special occasion and invited Petrina to say a few words on behalf of the Lavin family. Mr Moran spoke of Faye’s talents in sport and music.
Mr Grealis shared his memories of Faye and Ms O Shea spoke of pupils doing their best the be like Faye with their commitment and attitude.

Sheila led all present in a prayerful Hail Mary .

Mr Grealis, Faye’s last teacher in Breaffy  NS organised the  mixed GAA football competition.

One of Faye’s many special interests was sport and it is fitting that her memory is kept alive and remembered this way.
Thanks to Sheila O Shea , Oisín Burns , Kevin Duggan ,Ciaran Hennelly , James Minogue , John Moran , John Murphy  and Liam Shevlin for their work with the teams on the day.

Cormarket sponsor the cup and refreshments.

Damien Ryan Manager with Cornmarket spoke to all about participation in sport.

Medals , The Cornmarket Cup and Shield   were presented at the end of the league.
