Mr Duggan’s 5th Class pictured are tennis lessons in Castlebar Tennis Club.

Mr Canny’s 6th Class researched and prepared  10 science experiments to teach to other classes in our school. They set up 10 stations in our hall presented and taught the key parts of each science experiment to groups from other classes differentiating from infants up to 2nd class . Mr John Moran recently organised a darts initiative with senior classes at lunch time in our Sports Hall. This novel numeracy initiative is one of our measures to improve maths in our school. Our Meitheal group organised a collection of Christmas gifts boxes for children in South Africa . They learned not to put in chocolate or toy snakes for cultural understanding reasons . They are pictured here in our hall just before the boxes were collected .

Both 2nd and 3rd Classes collected hampers just before Christmas for the St Vincent de Paul . It was a student leadership / early citizenship project in Ms O Shea’s , Ms Mannion’s , Mr Duffy’s and  Ms Nestor’s classes . Well done !

Well done to our quiz teams who participated in Cumann na mBunscoil Sports Quiz in Breaffy NS Sports Hall recently . Our teams were from senior classes with one team coming third against stiff competition . The teams are pictured with Quiz Master Michael Gallagher and Sean Grealis 5th Class teacher who entered & coached the teams .
