A fabulous day for the Boys and Girls of Breaffy NS in Bekan at the Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football Finals. Our Boys defeated Claremorris in the Division 1B Final, with a wonderful second half comeback. Our Girls defeated Ballinrobe in the Division 1A Final in a very competitive match. Well done to all involved. There was great support on the day from pupils and other teachers not to mention the parents and other family members that attended. Mr Grealis and Ms O Shea were delighted and spoke with great passion to both teams. Mr Grealis was thrilled for them and Ms O Shea mentioned their ‘Is Féidir Linn ‘ motto that could be heard in the stairwell before they left.
Mr George Moran, Principal praised both teams for this unique achievement and complimented all the teachers who give of their time to football in our school.
Mr Moran said that we as a school are lucky to have teachers with such a passionate commitment to sport and the enjoyment it brings to many.
Their passion and interest is most noteworthy he said.
After the double win both teams were welcomed with a bonfire and a homecoming party.
