Pupils in 5th Class along with Ms McCormack worked on an Art project discovering the talent of irish artist Paul Henry. We chose the art work of Paul Henry because he is famous for depicting the west of Ireland in a spare post impressionist style.
Our ERASMUS Visitors from Sweden , Germany , Italy & Spain came to our school in November 18.
On a day trip they visited Achill that is depicted so clearly in Paul’s work.
They also saw the Henry Clarke stained glass windows in Newport Church .
Our visitors were so impressed with the scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way in Achill that it was very easy pick an Irish artist relevant to our project.
Our pupils presented the process of painting Paul Henry inspired landscape themes in a Zoom webinar with our exchange countries.
Their PowerPoint presentation outlined clearly the process & notable facts about Paul Henry.
